"The Voice Thief" Returns to Summerhall

"The Voice Thief" will be returning to Summerhall in August as part of the Edinburgh Fringe. P7A pupils were most fortunate to be invited to attend a preview show earlier this year and absolutely raved about this excellent production! (Anne Derricourt, of critically acclaimed Catherine Wheels Theatre Company, has asked us to pass on that it would be lovely to see some of them again and if any do decide to return, she has asked them to say hello in the queue.)

Welcome to The MacKenzie Institute for the Encouragement of Vocal Harmony, a darkly mysterious place where hundreds of girls' voices have been held captive for years. This is the first time the public have been allowed into The Institute and it may be the last… The Voice Thief is for everybody aged nine and over. ‘A fabulous fantasy you want to shout about’ ***** (Herald). ‘Everything a piece of theatre should be’ ***** (Guardian). ‘A wickedly enchanting promenade performance’ ***** (TVBomb.co.uk).

The innovative promenade style performance is suitable for 9+ and more information can be found here: https://tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/voice-thief

The Voice Thief has been nominated for four CATS Awards (Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland – chosen by the journalists and theatre critics). It has been included in the categories for Best Design, Best Female Performer (Beatrice), Best Production for Children and Young People and Best Technical Presentation. These are high accolades and we hope to hear news of celebrations after the awards are announced at the beginning of June.
